Mary "June" Jones

“June” passed away quietly on August 1, 2014 at the Leduc Hospital after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. As she passed into the welcoming arms of her dear family who predeceased her, the love of her life, Ken was holding her hand. June was born in Foremost,Alberta and when the war began at the age of 4, the family moved to Maxville, Ontario. She remained there until the sudden passing of her dad, Sgt. Elmer Sproule from a fall. June’s mother, Annie Simpson Sproule (McCliment) (Dann) moved June and her older brother Dale back West to Vulcan where her sisters Mary Scott (Art) and Beth MacMillan (Clayton) were living. In 1951 June met and then married Ken Jones in July of 1952 and at the time of her passing had shared 63 years of love and dedication to one another, Ken never leaving her side. June was predeceased by an infant brother, Clifford Earl, her father, Sgt. Elmer Bancroft Sproule in 1944, her brother Sgt. Dale Merton Sproule in 1970, her mom Annie Simpson Dann in 1977, her and Ken’s infant daughter, Marjorie June Jones in 1962, their eldest son, William Elmer Jones in 2002 and their youngest son, David Kenneth in 2007. June is survived by her husband Ken, her daughters Vicky (Calgary) and Cheryl (Dan) Venne, Leduc. She is also survived by grandchildren, Christie (Lachlan) Lavin Edmonton, Adam (Cherry) Jones, Sam Venne, all of Leduc, Tracy Suffesick, Calgary, Ryan (Amber) Suffesick, Okotoks, Tiffany (Cameron) Morrison-Hill, PEI, great grandchildren, Nikki Webb, Calgary, Aiden Suffesick, Okotoks, Rowan Lavin, Edmonton and Isabella Grace & Olivia May Morrison- Hill (PEI).
